First camp of the year

With a nice long break from work for Easter (and a forecast of rain) it was time to dust off the camping equipment and plan the first camp of the year at Thistledown Farm.

We headed up to Gloucester on Thursday afternoon - after a quick stop at Halfords to buy a roof box as the stuff must have multiplied over winter.

The campsite.....

Eco loos....

After pitching the tent and stocking up on supplies it was time for a well deserved beer....

The next day we woke up to beautiful sunshine and went on an adventure in the woods before relaxing around the site for the best part of two days....

On Sunday the sky clouded over and the rain came down!! Perfect weather to go on a group walk and get lost trying to find a hole in the ground :-S

Smiley faces - before we took the wrong turning!!

Creating a new path...

Finally the Long Barrow was within reach - some of us didn't survive....

(Thanks to Bells and Labs for freely sharing her photos in places where I can steal them - I forgot my camera!)
